UFC President, Dana White had full confidence in Conor McGregor going into the historic money fight that happened on 26th, August, 2017 against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather because he had seen how much of a work Conor put in and knowing how ambitious he is, however all that turned out to be a dream show he may never get to so.
After going head- to- head with Floyd, Conor gassed out in the 10th round and the bout had to be stopped, declaring Mayweather the winner. He wasn’t tipped to have lasted the first two rounds considering he has no boxing experience, being an MMA fighter, but the Irish fighter still had regrets despite the fact that $100 million was waiting for him in his bank.
He was grateful though to all those who had faith in him especially Dana Whiteand these are some of the things he said. “Floyd is 40 years old, he’s always had problems with south paw, Conor McGregor is 27 and he is a south paw. Whenever Conor hits people they fall… I talked to Conor this morning and he’s absolutely 100% positive that he wins this fight and I stopped doubting Conor McGregor a long time ago”.
After the fight, with his back leaned against the walling a smiling at his baby boy, Conor McGregorwas apologetic when Dana White approached him. Feeling he let him down, all Conor could mouth was “sorry man”, but White who has always played a role as his father just wiped it off by saying “Be proud man, I’m telling you, you’re unbelievable”.
